Test Results

Well after a long wait her test results are in. She has muscle to have the surgery!! We meet with her surgeon in March to schedule her second surgery. We also found that her tethered cord means that her spinal cord is attached to the bone. So we meet with a Nero surgeon to decide when she can get that separated. Also, we found out she has VACTERL syndrome. This stands for...

V - Vertebral anomalies
A - Anal atresia
C - Cardiovascular anomalies
T - Tracheoesophageal fistula
E - Esophageal atresia
R - Renal (Kidney) and/or radial anomalies
L - Limb defects

We also found out that she does not have a tailbone. She also is probably missing a right ovary. But those are things that will not really matter. We are hoping for the best from here on out. So wish us the best of luck. Thank you for your love and support.

After a lot of doctor visits we have made it to the day that will decide it all. We are awaiting the test results of Skyleigh's MRI and VCUG. They had to see if she has an muscle to work with to do her first surgery. The tests started at noon today. She first had a vcug which is where they put water in her bladder to see if it is going into her kidneys. I also believe this test was to find out where the fistula was located. That is where there is some kind of hole that was letting the stool come out her pee originally. Then she went on to the MRI. She had to be sedated for that test. The test took her two hours. She was then moved to a recovery room where she waiting to wake up. After that they moved us into a room to monitor her breathing for 12 hours. She has been really sick from the meds they gave her and has thrown up all over the place. As of now she is sleeping peacefully. We await the wound team in the morning to look at her stoma and the test results. Wish us luck......... to be granted with the opportunity to have surgery would be amazing. I really want Skyleigh to have the opportunity for the most NORMAL life she can.

Today is the day we got to take Skyleigh home!!! Yay! After spending two and a half weeks in the NICU they decided to let her go home. She only weighed 3lbs 10oz. One of the nurses there told us she is the smallest baby she has seen go home in 15yrs. They pretty much told us that she was doing so amazing and they could no longer keep her there. She would do a much better job at growing and eating at home. What a wonderful day to actually get to hold your baby with no wires or monitors on her. It was a long night..... but well worth it.

Primary Children's

The day after Skyleigh was born they realized something was wrong. She was throwing up a lot and had only passed a very little amount of stool. They thought that she had some kind of blockage and ordered some x-rays to find out. After doing them they found out that she had something else majorly wrong and took her away to primary children's hospital. They found out she has an inperforate anus. What that basically means is that she does not have an actual bum hole to go to the bathroom. They had also found a little hole in her heart and a few vertebrae in her lower back are disfigured. So, to fix the bum problem for now she got a colostomy bag surgery at two days old. The hole in her heart fixed itself. Then the lower back stuff is just kind of a waiting game. They said worse case is that she could be paralyzed or have some type of nerve damage. They also said that it can just work itself out and she could be just fine. But until then she is stuck in the nicu at Primary Children's until she can get bigger and start growing.

At 4:52 pm Skyleigh Jo Bills arrived into this world weighing 3lbs 1oz and measuring 14 inches long. It was a scary and wonderful moment all wrapped up in one. She came out screaming at the top of her lungs. Wonderful thing hearing her cry..... considering she was 6 weeks early!!

Ok........ so where to begin?!? There has been a lot of things happen since my last blog post. I had a really rough pregnancy with Skyleigh. Which led to a lot of bed rest and tests. I was on a weekly non stress test to monitor her. Which then turned into a twice a week test when they noticed her abdomen was not growing anymore. Then when I was at one of the non stress test my blood pressure was extremely high...... so I was put on complete strict bed rest. Then I was to have a follow up visit with my normal OBGYN. I went into the appointment around 2pm......... where he said that I had a horrible case of preclampsia and would be delivering me in two hours. So away to the hospital we went to get prepped for a C section.

Camping

We decided to get away this weekend and go camping up our favorite American Fork Canyon. We went with Ariel, Ricky, Dom, Zach, Shayla, and Dana. They drove their cars up, so we stayed in a camping spot just off of the road. It was a pretty nice set back spot for being right off the road. It was fun to see Dominic have fun in the dirt! This was his first camping trip and I was happy to be part of it. I wish I would of brought my camera for some awesome pictures. Me and Cody went up to Miller's to check out the last cabin standing up there. It was a nice quite ride in the yota. It is sooo pretty up in there! We got out and carved all of our names in the tree... Cody, Stormy, Meese, and Feeb (boe). haha. It was a good time. But I think that I have had my feel of camping and being pregnant :0). The sleeping and getting comfy part really is starting to suck..... maybe part of it was the bear next to me. Regardless. I had a wonderful time up the canyon and it was a nice get away from reality.

Thank you everyone for your love and support for us through all of what we have found out with our little "meese" as we call her. We went to a specialist to find out more information as to what is going on with her and the outcome of all of this. As of right now things are still up in the air about some things. As of right now she is still just really small. She still has fluid in one kidney, making it a lot bigger than the other one. Her heart looked really strong with nothing wrong with it. They say sometimes with having fluid in the kidney and the cord like it is, it can be a sign of down syndrome. I had taken a blood test to see what the chances are of our baby having any kind of problems and the down syndrome one came back with a 1 in 10,000. So according to my specialist he thinks that she will not have it. All we can do is wait and see how everything goes. I have to see him 3 more times. He wants to watch her close to try and prevent or catch any problems that she might have. He is having me come back at 28, 32, and 34 weeks. This is to prevent stillborn from happening.

Weekend Fun!!

Last Friday my dad took me and Cody to a place called Shabu Shabu. It is a place in orem by Smith's grocery store. It was a very interesting place. It is a place where you cook your own food at your table. You get your choice of meat(s). They bring a pot to a boil with cabbage, carrots, tofu, etc. Then you put in soy sauce and an optional hot sauce. Then in that broth you cook your meat. It was a fun and new experience. Learned next time to not put as much hot sauce. After all your meat is cooked they put noodles into the broth and give a soup. MAN does the noodles soak up the HOT in the sauce :). Thanks dad for the break and company........ I really needed it.

The weekend followed with some 24th fun. We went to Cody's parents and had some food and visited. Then after that we went to my gmas for her bday tradition. She always has cake and fireworks. It was nice to see everyone and light off some off our wyoming fireworks from last year :).

Yesterday we went in for our ultrasound. We found out we will be having a baby girl! How exciting. She will be such a blessing in our lives. We also found out a couple things about her that are kind of alarming. She has a single umbillical cord artery. Normally they are suppose to have two. She is two weeks under weight. She also is not developing like they want her too. They also found that she has fluid in her lungs. If the fluid gets worse, she has some kind of blockage that could lead to surgery. We are going to see a specialist on Tuesday at the hospital to find out more. I am hoping for the best and trying to stay positive. She needs to be a fighter just like her mommy was. Please keep us in your prayers.

We have been so busy with summer activities!! We celebrated the 3rd of July at the Stadium of Fire. It was a really fun time being there and seeing what they had planned for the year. Then that sunday we went over to the Bill's family house and celebrated Pam's bday/4th of July. It was a blast. The weeks following we have been swimming a lot and spent a lot of time up AF canyon in the rockcrawling beast haha.

This last weekend we went to my famous family reunion. It was a very colorful event :). We went to a place up in Honeyville which is outside brigham city. It is called crystal hot springs. We had a blast swimming in the mineral pools and eating some sloppy joes. Sunday we then spend the day with my sister, ricky, dom, gma, great gma, ashley, josh, and conner. It was a blast. My sister made some sweet pork burritos that knocked your socks off :)

Now........... this week is the exciting part of pregnancy we find out what we are having WED!!!! BOY or GIRL who knows :). Whatever it is we are super excited to be first time parents.

Pregnancy is a great and wonderful thing!! I can not wait unit I actually get to find out what we are having (maybe friday) and see the baby push on my belly. I can actually feel the baby move around in my stomach right now. It is a crazy feeling!! I am so excited and nervous at the same time to be a mom. I know that it will be the most life changing experience that I will have. I am 18 almost weeks now, this is a picture of a baby at 18 weeks.

Baby Scare

Sunday night we had a little scare with our "moose" as Cody calls it. I am currently experiencing a threating miscarrage. They could not find exactly what the cause of the bleeding is. So I just have to wait it out and see how things go. As of now the baby is still growing and the heartbeat is strong. So I am hoping for the best. Just taking things easy and Cody is having to me the homemaker!!

Moab

Well we made it to Moab another year. It was a fun experience with some awesome friends. I made it to the waterfall barefoot and pregnant haha. We also did the famous Pritchett trail and I loved it!! Can't wait to do it again.

We are leaving today to go to our yearly trip to Moab!! I am so excited to go this year. The last time we went we went up a cliff and rolled our yota. This year we are going to be alot safer especially with this baby cooking in my belly.

This year we are also going down with some amazing friends Sarah and Des. This year will be the first time that Sarah has been down to Moab. I can't wait! We also decided this year to hike to the Moab waterfall. I have never been, so it should be a new adventure.

12 WEEKS!!

Our baby this week is almost the size of a lime!! In this week the reflexes have begun. That means that their toes curl, fingers open and close, and they may even begin to suck it's thumb!!

It is crazy to think that just 7 weeks ago is when we found out. Before we know it this baby will be here and bringing joy to our lives!! As for the pregnancy it has gone really good so far. I have not been sick at all. The only real big change I have felt is being TIRED ALL THE TIME! That is starting to wear off now.

Well we found out that we are going to have our first baby in Dec. We are soo excited and nervous at the same time. It has already been a really great experience. It is so amazing to learn about all the different things that the baby is doing and how it is growing.

We go in for another doctor's appt at the end of May. I can't wait to see it and hear the heartbeat.... AGAIN! (we had a little glimps when we went to the ER one day)

Christmas tree!! We have had our tree up for awhile. THE DAY AFTER THANKGIVING HAHA!! Cody actually agreed to it which was nice. I had the day off listened to Christmas music put in a pine warmer and went to town. This was the end result!! Cody doesn't like a lot of decoration on the tree..... so this worked out just perfect :)

Christmas is getting near... I can't believe another year has passed!! We have been up to alot lately including decorating our new little house :) Here is our decorated Christmas tree!!

We even got in the Christmas spirit and seen Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey!! It was a really good movie. The 3D was awesome! But we were glad to get the glasses off by the end of the movie. They made us both a little sick :)

This year we decided to go to the Festival of Trees!! It was amazing at how much time and effort people put into all the items there. I took some pictures of all the crazy ginger bread houses.

Wow! It has been a long time since my last update :) I need to keep up on this more often.

Halloween was a blast!! Every year we all get together as a family and carve pumpkins :)

Well me and Cody moved into our new house in Aug. We had a bday/house warming party. It was a blast. Thank you for everyone that came!! This summer was really full of a lot of fun and playing :).

We took a trip to Lake Powell with our friend Ian!! What a blast. I can't wait to go back next year.

We also did a lot of riding at the sand dunes and boating this summer. We are thinking this summer we will have a boat of our own :)

UPDATE!! It has been awhile since I was on here. I have just been enjoy the warm weather and my nephew lately. Dominic sucks his thumb now. He is getting bigger and bigger by the day. He sleeps and farts a lot haha. He really has such a curious personality, looking everywhere and staring. I can't wait to see him keep growing more.

We also went to the air show at Hill air force base. I love seeing all the old military planes!! The thunderbirds were so amazing!! It is so amazing how you can take a plane up and do all the crazy tricks they do. Even my dad the famous pilot was watching in aw as his stomach was tubbling.

Camping!!! I love the warm weather so much.. because that equals camping and a good time. We just went to the sand dunes and had a blast. We also took john's new tent trailer and it was awesome!!!

BABY DECKER!!!

This weekend was a little fun adventure. We drove down to Roosevelt to see my new baby nephew Decker. He is soo cute!! He was born 8 lbs and 20 inches long. I am so happy for Davey and Tami. They are going to make wonderful parents.

He is such a good baby. He never really cried, and just sat and examined the new world he was brought into.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Cody!!! We had to celebrate Cody's bday early because we wont be here next Sunday. We will be in Mexico!!! SOOO happy bday to him. He is such an amazing person that completes me in so many ways. We know everything there is to know about eachother. Like what to get in his cake to make it his favorite... now he just won't stop eating it.

HAPPY EASTER... well early!! Easter also falls on Cody's bday this year that we will be gone for. So, Cody brought me the cutest basket this year. He is into the new hippy look and bought me a really cute dress and sandles to go with it. I also got all the other little things like bubbles, stuffed animal, and CANDY!!! Easter is my favorite holiday. I hope that everyone can enjoy their easter and be around the ones the love the most. ( I know I will )

Spring Riding!!

Spring has arrived!! YAY! We decided to go out riding and try out the warm weather. We were suprised to see that the wind was blowing so hard out at the sand dunes you could not even see the parking lot!!! We decided to brave it anyways and try and ride in it. WOW mistake!! We just got covered and covered with sand in the face and eyes. Thank goodness for saftey glasses!! haha I think I look like a fly :). Even though it was horrible riding weather... it has gotten warm enough to at least go out. We had a really great time with each other. But.... don't we always!?!?!

Sorry it has been so long since my last blog. I have been really busy planning my sister's baby shower. It takes up more time than you think. I can't believe that she is almost going to be a mommy. I just finished making the invitations and Ariel mailed them out yesterday. Here is how they turned out.

Me and Cody went up and road the Heber Creeper and went tubing. It was such a blast!! I even got to wear my new snow outfit that I got for Christmas (thanks Code). Me and cody kept hooking our tubes together and going down the hill. It was so much fun. Then to top it off we stayed in Miday at Inn on The Creek. It is such a beautiful place!! It is set up in the mountings with breathtaking views. It was really nice to have the time to reconnect with eachother. It's times like these that remind me why I fell in love with Cody in the first place.
